U12 JIM MCHUGH GARRYCASTLE CUP SEMI FINAL
Moate lined out against an unbeaten Tyrellespass team in the semi final of the cup competition. The game on Saturday evening in Garrycastle was extremely competitive with Moate opening the scoring with a well taken point. Tyrellespass were strong and tall in the midfield and showed their intent with some point scores to leave the score after 10 minutes,  4 points to 2 in Tyrellspass favour .Moate have always converted goal chances when the ball delivers into our full forwards and this evening was no different with Moate converting 3 goals onto the scoreboard before half time and Tyrellespass taking a few point scoring opportunities.Even though Moate had a lead at half time , the wind disadvantage and a determined Tyrellespass side had to be overcome and a steely determination from Moate became quickly evident in the second half. It appeared that for every point Tyrellespass scored , Moate replied at the other end and therefore , conserving the  3 first half goals to the final whistle. This was a performance that has to be remembered as every player in every position delivered a superb performance for their team panel against a skilled Tyrellspass side.Well done to both teams
Final Score , MAW 3-10, Tyrellspass 0-9
The final of the Jim Mc Hugh Memorial Cup will take place next Saturday evening 25th October with Moate attempting to retain the trophy against Tang/Maryland in Garrycastle ( time to be confirmed)
