Raharney 2-12
Castlepollard 1-9

Raharney lived up to their favourites' billing by overcoming a youthful Castlepollard team to capture their first Westmeath Examiner Cup since 2010 at Cusack Park.

Johnny Greville's charges survived a late scare to be crowned champions for a 12th time. With young Killian Doyle accurate from frees and his twin brother Ciaran finding the net late in the first half, Raharney led by 1-7 to 0-3 at half-time.

Despite missing two glorious goal-scoring chances at the start of the second period, 'Pollard stuck their task and were back to within three points, 1-7 to 1-10, with five minutes remaining thanks to two points from Kevin Brazil and a goal from veteran Darren McCormack.

However, the Deelsiders finished with a flourish as Brian Connaughton bagged a second goal.
