Ballinagore GAA Notes

October 13, 2014

Future Vision 2020
Ballinagore GAA are holding this presentation on the evening of Friday 24th October where we will outline our plans for the development of our club, its facilities, its standing and intrinsic relationship within our community. The event will take place at 8.30pm and will be held in St. Patrick's NS, Ballinagore. There will be keynote speakers/facilitators and the informative presentation should encourage lively debate and ideas. This is an open forum and we want to encourage all members of our local community to attend. Refreshments will be served on the evening. Please spread the word and we look forward to seeing you there.

U12 Football
We played two games last weekend in the Jim McHugh Memorial Tournament. On Friday evening we travelled to Tubberclair to play the home side under lights. At half time, we trailed by five points, 1-08 to 1-03, and had missed a number of scoring opportunities so we were confident that we could make up the gap. However we took our foot off the pedal somewhat in the second half and the same deficit remained at the final whistle after an entertaining game. On Sunday we travelled to Mount Temple to play Caulry. This turned out the be a real ding-dong affair with plenty of excitement throughout. We led at have time by 4-04 to 2-05 but in fairness, Peter Dalton in our goals had pulled off some remarkable saves to retain our lead. The second half was hugely exciting but Caulry picked off more scores than us to give them a slender 5-11 to 5-09 win. Well done to all our panel for travelling to both games and giving their all. The game against Caulry was probably the best performance by this young side all year so it augurs well going to Garrycastle for the semi-finals night.

Walking Track
The lights are back on for the Winter around our walking track on Tuesday's and Friday's between 19:30 and 22:00. With the weather being so agreeable lately, there are no excuses to get out and get fit coming into the Winter!

School Team Training
Training for the National School team takes place every Sunday morning at 11am in Pairc an Bhodhrain. The Cumann na mBunscoil competition is kicking off so it's important that all the kids get as much training in over the next couple of months.

Congratulations
We want to congratulate St. Brigid's on winning the Intermediate Hurling Championship final last Sunday where they saw off a strong Clonkill side. We wish them well in the senior ranks in 2015.
