One of our three keepers on panel very safe and dependable minor this year.

Darren McArdle=goalkeeper
Monaghan native Darren is in his fourth season with club he has made the transformation from outfield to net minder.

Tommy Ryan=Goalkeeper
Older brother of Alex keeping it in the family very reliable in the last line of our defence.

Robbie Gorman=Back
Robbie is having a great championship year his influence spreads throughout the whole team part of the Westmeath under 21 team this year.

Ruairi Cunningham= midfield
Second full season with first team Ruairi adds a new dimension with his pace and scoring ability which are vital to the team represented Westmeath at minor level for past two years.

Eoin Dalton=midfield
Captain great leader who always gives his best very strong and determined player who has led by example all year.

John Corbally=forward
Top scorer this year vital member of team pace to burn big future ahead with club and county part of Westmeath under 21 panel this year.

Gavin Murray=back
A good winner and distributor of the ball who can be relied upon to give his best makes life very difficult for his opponentmember of Westmeath minor team this year.

Nigel Adamson=forward
A long serving player of the whites has got vital scores in games this year winner of a leinster minor medal in 2000.

Daniel buckley=back
A player who has come up through the ranks.member of our double winning minor teams of last two years wont let you down on the big day talented rugby player also.

Alan Claffey=Back
A very reliable corner back who motivates his fellow defenders.long serving player who has represented his county at all levels.

Daniel Bracken=back
Moates most consistent defender Daniel can play in either the full or the half back line one of the three bracken bothers on panel.

Keith O,Brien-forward
A player who always gives his best a very strong and determined player transferred back to club this year great addition to panel.

David Minnock=forward
A player noted for his high fielding and winner of valuable possession around half forward line.

Brendan Arigo= back
A very stylish wing back who is also a good attacking half back with a great turn of pace.

Jamie Madden= forward
Another player who has come up through the ranks captain of our 2012 winning minor team kicked 3 vital points in semi final.

Billy Berry=forward
One of the most gifted footballers in the club made a big contribution when brought on in semi final.

Colin Bracken= back
A dashing close marking defender that most forwards find difficult to elude.

Jack Linnane=back
A very versatile player who can play in either defence or forward line.

Steven Byrne=back
Has given great service to the club comfortably in any position in back line.

Conor Costello=midfield.
The veteran of the panel conor has giving great service and commitment to the team over the years a noted midfielder on his day.

Cian Bradley=forward
One of our top scorers of championship very accurate from play and frees member of Westmeath under 21 panel this year.

Conor Sheridan= back
One of the fittests members of panel comfortably in either half back or half forward line one for the future.

Sean Bracken=back
Youngest member of the three bracken bothers work commitments have curtailed his involvement in last few games back now rearing to go.

Gareth Murray=forward
having a great championship season involved in most attacking moves with his pace and power.

Andrew Gorman=back
One of the youngest members of the panel great reader of the game bright future ahead of him.

One of the two brothers in the forward line has shown a steely determination to win the championship this year.

Jimmy is a very experienced player who has giving super service to the white jersey member of the winning 1997 senior panel.

Dublin native gary is in his second year with club tight corner back who is also a up and coming referee in the county.

Ciaran Kelly=back
Great fielder of the ball can be relied upon to give his best.

Dependable corner back who gives great service to panel.

Shane claffey=back
member of this years minor team another player with a bright future.

Corner back on last years winning minor team close marking defender.

Damien Byrne=forward
100% committed to the cause never misses a training session.

Eoghan Kelly=forward
Eoghan loves nothing more than a good battle around the edge of the square.2 minor medals and minor again this year.

Keith possesses loads of natural ability and is comfortable on both feet.Another minor off our back to back winning teams.

John has returned to the scene after a few years away from game vital member of junior b team.

MINOR CHAMPIONSHIP
Our defence of the Championship came to an end in unseasonally warm conditions in Shandonagh on Sunday when having to give second best in the semi final to the Downs.The lads gave themselves a mountain to climb with disastrous starts to both halfs but in a testament to their character it took a combination of the upright twice,the crossbar and desperate last ditch defending to deny them another final appearance.Well done to the Downs and best of luck in the final.Final Score The Downs 4-12 MAW 3-10 Panel:A Ryan,S Claffey,D Ennis,C Claffey,C Sheridan,J Fannin,A Gorman,R Cunningham,D Ledwith,G Murray,B Berry,K Byrne,A O Neill,E Kelly,R Forde,P Gorman,D Mullins,C Corbally

STREET LEAGUES
Our Under 10 street leagues started on Tuesday evening last. The
Street league this year is kindly sponsored by Martin Murray
Architects. The motto for this years leagues is ' compete with ... not
against '
The first set of fixtures saw Westmeath play Leitrim and Sligo play Dublin.
Both games were highly entertaining to watch with the young lads doing
their best for their team mates around them. The scores on the first
night were Westmeath 15 pts Leitrim 6 pts and Sligo 17 pts Dublin 16.
On Friday night, the second round took place. Again the games were
played in good sporting manner with all players doing their best for
their team. Results from the night were Sligo 19 Leitrim 8 and
Westmeath 14 Dublin 5.
U10 Coughlan Cup
On Monday evening the u10s played Tubberclaire in the Coughlan cup in
Castledaly. With both teams having won their first games this was a
game which was eagerly awaited. Both teams started well, but as the
game went on Moate started to take control at midfield and ran out
winners on a scoreline of Moate 2-20 Tubberclaire 1-07.
On Sunday morning the U10s were back in Castledaly. The opponents this
time were Maryland / Tang. Moate started the better of the two teams
and took and early lead which they held onto for the remainder of the
game. The team played lovely passing football, with players running
onto passes and making lots of space for themselves. Well done lads on
the victory.

U12
Our U12s play Rosemount on Wednesday evening at 6.15 in Rosemount,
this is the third game for the lads in the Jim McHugh  Garrycastle
tournament.

FLAGS,BUNTING ETC
A limited amount of flags etc are available through the Club and from local outlets so go out and paint the town white for the final!

Best wishes to neighbours Caulry and Rosemount who meet in the Intermediate final also on Sunday in Cusack park.Sunday night could be lively in town!
