Minor B Championship
Southern Gaels 1-19 Turin 1-9
Southern Gaels made the long trip to Turin lsat Wednesday and collected a valuable win in the minor group stage. Using the strong wind to good effect they controlled the game from the start with Sean Dowd and Sean Kilgarriff dominant at centerfield. Fionn Dowd and Joe Finnucane were impressive in the full forward line and they took good scores. Dermot Treacy was very effective at center forward and accounted for 1-5 throughout the game. In the second half Turin came more into the game but Cathal Mc Givern and Eoin Meaney stood firm and gave little away. Adrian Garvey moved to centerfield and excelled while Breen Elliott's puck outs set up many attacks.
Next up are St. Bridget's and Cullionand hopefully the side will continue to progress and make the closing stages of the competition.
