Rosemount GAA club notes

Intermediate Championship
Rosemount 1-9
Tubberclair 0-9
I said in last week's notes that we would need to up our game considerably from our quarter final performance if we were to beat Tubberclair, and that we duly did in Mullingar on Saturday evening. A good workmanlike performance from start to finish sees us into the Intermediate final on 5th October. Despite missing several scoring chances we went in at the break two ahead, 6 points to 4. In what was a low scoring game, a goal was always going to be crucial and it came within 10 minutes of the restart. An excellent long punt out of defence by Shane Tone found Theo Watts who flicked to the on-running David Tone. He in turn made up the yards and put the ball low to the left, out of Garry Connaughton's reach. Positives from the game was the work put in by all the lads, but especially the backline. In the 'Must do Better' category has to be our shooting. A vast improvement in this area will be required to beat either Caulry or Tang, who replay their drawn match on Friday evening. Team: Eoin Carberry, Shane Tone, Eamon Boland, Luke Kelly, Andy McCormack, Darren King, Boidu Sayeh(0-2), Enda Boland, TJ. Fox, Theo Watts(0-1), James Geoghegan, DD McCormack, Danny Fielding(0-2), Dude McCormack(0-2), David Tone(1-1). Subs used: Paddy Boland for TJ Fox, Cathal Daly(0-1) for D. Fielding, Declan Mullen for J. Geoghegan, David Malynn for DD. McCormack, David Fox for T. Watts.
