U12 Football
We played two games last week, away to Kinnegad on Wednesday and at home to Tyrrellspass on Friday evening. We were well beaten in the end against a very strong and robust Kinnegad side in what was a dour and hard game for U12 grade but our lads produced some great open football and played with great spirit throughout. On Friday evening, we had a great battle with Tyrrellspass in the Jim McHugh Memorial tournament. Having been well beaten by our neighbours previously this year, our lads put in a brilliant first half performance to lead by two goals at half time. However, Tyrrellspass' strong running and support play proved too strong in the second half as they regained the lead and ran out winners on a 5-05 to 7-07 scoreline. Fair play to our lads as they showed great battling qualities and played some brilliant football throughout.

U8 Football Blitz
Our Under 8 footballers played a very enjoyable and well run blitz in Milltownpass last Saturday morning. We fielded two teams and played games against Milltownpass, Kinnegad and Tyrrellspass. The lads played very well and recorded some great wins on the day. Medals were presented at the end and refreshments were enjoyed by all on a lovely morning for football. Thanks to Milltownpass for inviting us to take part.

U14 Girls Football
Congratulations to Kilbeggan Shamrocks U14 girls who won their championship final against The Downs in dramatic fashion with a last minute goal in sunny Milltown last Saturday. The Ballinagore connections on this team are very strong with a number of girls from the area on the team and they are also co-managed by Ballinagore footballer, Robert Gannon.

School Centenary
Next Sunday will see St. Patrick's NS, Ballinagore celebrate it's 100 years of existence. Celebrations start at 2pm with Mass and this will be followed by an Open Day in the school where the organising committee will launch their book celebrating the school. There will also be hundreds of photo's and old school memorabilia on display, and there will be refreshments served. At huge amount of work has gone into preparing for Sunday and the school looks pristine. So even if you didn't attend the school, why not come along to partake in the celebrations and enjoy what promises to be a great day out.

Sympathy
We extend our deepest sympathy to the Corcoran family and relatives and friends of MaryJo Hyland, Cloneyheigue, who sadly passed away last week. May she Rest in Peace.
