Intermediate Championship

Our intermediate team qualified for the semi-final of the Intermediate championship, with a hard fought and well-earned performance in Mullingar on Sunday. Two goals in the opening half from DD McCormack gave us some breathing space at the break. Milltownpass came back at us in the second half and some stout defending was required to keep our noses in front. We now meet Tubberclair in the semi in two week time. Another step up in performance will be definitely be required if we are to clear this hurdle.

Ladies County Final
Well done to Moate Ladies on winning the Intermediate title in Athlone on Saturday week defeating Ballycomoyle by the narrowest of margins. They now go on to play Leinster club championship against Wexford this Saturday and more importantly, will be playing senior football next year.
Commiserations but well done to their minor team, who put in a Trojan effort but lost out to Rochfordbridge by two points in the semi-final in Tubber on Sunday.

Golf Classic
Sincere thanks to all who played and supported our Golf Classic in Moate on Friday 29th Aug. The winners were a team entered by Shane Maher.
