Ballinagore GAA Notes

August 25, 2014

Intermediate Football Championship
Ballinagore 1-06 Rosemount 2-16
We played our final group game last Saturday evening in Moate and had to give second best to a very strong Rosemount side. We played well in stages of this game but mistakes cost us dearly with a lot of our opponents scores coming from breakdowns in play when we had possession. This has been a feature of our game all year and it's vital that we improve on it for our play-off final against Mullingar Shamrocks. Brandon Carey took his goal well following a good move and we were most unfortunate not to have scored a second when Michael Ennis hit the crossbar following a magnificent move with Ciaran Carey. Team: Cathal Daly, David Slevin, Marty Linnane, Kieran Deegan, James Sheerin, Dan Gavin, Paul Maloney, Frankie Deegan, Rory Tynan, Cathal Ennis, Michael Ennis, Cormac Quinn, Ciaran Carey, Ian Seery, Brandon Carey. Subs used: Paddy Doody, Shane Heraty, Enda Claffey, Brian Sheerin, Niall Kelly, Paddy Ennis

Underage Results
Our U14 team played an exciting draw against Shannon Gaels last Thursday week in Tubberclair. The game ended St. Malachy's/Ballinagore 2-16 Shannon Gaels 4-10. Our U16 team had a very impressive win over Garrycastle in Ballinagore last Monday week beating them on a 2-10 to 2-05 scoreline. Our minors were not so lucky as they were well beaten by Rosemount in Ballinagore last Wednesday evening.

U12 Football
St Malachy's/Ballinagore 7-12 Garrycastle 6-08
Our U12's continued their good form this year with an exciting win over Garrycastle last Tuesday evening in Ballinagore. We led for most of this game but conceded three quickfire goals midway through the second half to go behind. However the lads dug really deep and reeled off a string of fine scores to win comfortably in the end. Team: Peter Dalton, Sean Kincaid, Mark Kiernan, Luke Seery, Ryan Boyne, Cody Finanne, Conor Murphy, Darragh Seery, Killian Bolger, Lorcan Kiernan, Tiernan McMahon, Warric Kirby, Peter Reynolds. Subs (all used): David Seery, Cathal Kelly, Shane Corcoran & Ryan Corcoran.
