Rowley not getting carried away

July 30, 2014
St Loman's manager Declan Rowley has played down their comfortable win over town rivals Mullingar Shamrocks in the SFC.

The defending champions sent out a warning to all rivals that they were not about to give away their title too easily as they hammered Shamrocks in last weekend's group clash.

Much has been made of the result, but St Loman's manager Declan Rowley stressed that at the end of the day, they have nothing won yet.

"I said to the lads that this is a series of games and this was just another one of them," Rowley told the Westmeath Examiner.

"I think we played better than we did in our previous two games and that's what pleases us the most at the end of the day. It's only two points, but I was happy with the way we played. Defensively we were tighter and we looked more structured.

"We certainly looked like we were back into reasonably good form, but these games have happened between Loman's and Shamrocks before and they've turned round when it went to the knockout stages. We're not looking beyond the fact that we played well, and we're just happy with the win."
