July 28, 2014
Senior Championship
St Lomans Mullingar 2.12 Mullingar Shamrocks 0.04
St Lomans recorded their third win of the senior championship against neighbours Mullingar Shamrocks in Cusack Park on Sunday evening last.

St Lomans were against a strong wind in the first half but were to completely dominate the half in which the blues defence kept Shamrocks scoreless from play. Eoin Price opened the scoring with a point before the impressive Shane Dempsey coolly finished to the net after a David Windsor pass. Lorcan Smyth reduced the margin with a pointed free but St Lomans replied with six unanswered points from Eoin Price, John Heslin(3), Jason O Toole and Paul Sharry(45m free) to give them a strong lead at the interval.
The second half continued in similar fashion to the first with St Lomans controlling the game and particularly Eoin Price who put in a superb display. Paul Sharry kicked two points either side of a Lorcan Smyth point before Shane Dempsey kicked over the score of the game with a point from distance. St Lomans forwards put together some great team moves and were rewarded when full forward David Windsor buried to the net. Paul Sharry(45m free) and John Heslin pointed in between a Shamrocks point in the closing stages as St Lomans finished comfortable winners.

Junior Championship
St Lomans 4.19 Killucan 4.07
St Lomans recorded an important win against Killucan in the junior championship on a glorious Friday evening last in Lakepoint Park. The high score line is evidence of the free flowing attacking football that was played by both sides.
St Lomans raced into the lead with points from Cormac Corroon(2) and David Kenny but Cillian Doyle replied with a goal for Killucan with these scores all inside the first four minutes. The home side were to dominate the next twenty minutes with Ken Mc Kinley and Conor Matthews rattling the net while points from Cathal Burke, David Kenny, Cormac Corroon, Pat Walsh and Darragh O Keeffe gave St Lomans an eleven point lead. Conor Matthew's goal was the pick of these scores after a great move set up by Darragh O Keeffe with his constant runs out of defence causing trouble for the opposition. The visitors had a strong finish to the half and three points along with goals from Paul and Shane Briody left just three between the sides at half time.
St Lomans shuffled the pack at the start of the second half and these changes proved decisive as they made a clinical start to the half. Cormac Corroon capped a fine performance by adding to his tally with a goal and two points. Substitute Ronan O Toole was a constant threat throughout the half as St Lomans kicked over some wonderful points. Killucan once against battled hard to get back into the game and registered two further goals before Chris Gilbert put the game beyond doubt with a goal to see St Lomans finish twelve point winners.
Team; Paul Mc Gann, David Mc Namee, Senan Russell, Michael Gleeson, Darragh O Keeffe(0.02), Conor O Donoghue, Paraic Mc Comb, Daniel Sheridan(0.01), Cathal Burke(0.01), Pat Walsh(0.03), Ken Mc Kinley(1.00), Sean Flanagan, Cormac Corroon(1.07,1f), David Kenny(0.04), Conor Matthews(1.00).
