Senior Championship - Castledaly 0-8 Killucan 1-06 Castledaly were slow to settle into this game, allowing Killucan to score a fast and furious goal after four minutes. Castledaly responded to take the lead with points from Paul Kelly, Fergal Hynes, Niall Duffy, and a 45 by Alan Stone, but Killucan equalised just before half time 0-4 / 1-01. Castledaly repeated this tally in the second half, equalising for each of the Killucan scores through Paul Kelly, Brendan Kelly, Niall O Neill, & Paul Kelly again. However despite strong defending by Castledaly the Killucan team secured the
winning point to take victory. Castledaly will look to the missed chances, misplaced passes, and below par performances as factors to be improved in future outings.

In a fast & physical game, Darragh Kelly, Brendan Kelly & MJ Kelly covered every blade of grass while John Warburton, Adrian Kelly, Derek Heavin, Alan Stone were strong in defence. Lorcan Dolan won alot of possession and was integral in linking up with the forwards. Our midfield duo battled for possession and Liam & Gordon's passing created many of Castledaly chances. In the forward line Castledaly found themselves up against a strong organised Killucan defence who worked hard to restrict scoring opportunities. Paul Kelly, Fergal Hynes, & Eamon Fleming were left to scrap for scoring chances, with many opportunities were off target or fell short under pressure.
Castledaly will look to improve on this performance and return to their more usual higher standard in games ahead.
