Rosemount GAA notes
July 28, 2014
Intermediate Championship
Rosemount 4-4
Ballynacargy 0-8
We picked up another two points in the championship by virtue of an eight point win over Ballynacargy in Tang on Sunday last. While Bal raised as many flags as ourselves, fortunately for us four of them were green. David Tone put the first underneath the keeper after only two minutes while Declan Mullen added another after twenty, when he fisted a rebound to the net. Were it not for the woodwork and two fine saves by Bal keeper Richie Price, it could have been a lot more than the 2-3 to two points at the break. Early in the second half, Theo Watts went on one of his trade-mark runs and while he appeared to lose control of the ball, did enough to toe poke it to the net. Bal had the better of the second half exchanges, scoring six points and forcing Eoin Carberry into making three excellent saves. Declan Mullen extended the lead with his second goal with ten minutes remaining.
