St Marys Rochfortbridge GAA club notes

July 21, 2014
Intermediate championship
St.Marys vs Caulry
This game was played in glorious sunshine in rosemount last sunday. This game was always going to be a tough battle and we got that.We seen the play very tight at the start with St.Marys getting on the score board first and caulry responded with scores of there own. After ten mins we were 2-2 in points each. Then four minutes later the caulry forward came at St.Marys and a shot at the keeper tommy byrne and he pulled off an excellent save but unfortunatly it fell to caulry and they stuck it to the net.Tommy byrne was imensce through out with some top class saves throughout the game. The second half started and it was the Caulry lads that were out of the blocks with some good scores and St.Marys were really being pegged back in there half for some of that half.Changes were made and they worked well but unfortunatly we couldnt get close enough in the end and Caulry ran out winners 1-10 - 0-05.

Cul camps took place in St.Marys gaa ground last week with huge numbers turning up well over 100 kids and made it one of the most successful camps in westmeath.Huge thanks to Gary Sammon, Alan McCormack and all the the other coaches for a very entertaining week for the players.Parents were overwelmed with all the activities and from st.marys gaa it was great to host it in our ground once again. We look forward to having it again in the near future. Thanks also to Emer brady evans and sheila lyster for the use of the hall also.
