Senior championship
St Lomans Mullingar 2.15 Castledaly 2.08
St Lomans recorded their second win in the senior championship in Cusack Park on Sunday evening last but had to survive a late scare from a resilient Castledaly team.
Castledaly opened the scoring with a point from Enda Kelly but a strong defensive first half display from St Lomans ensured this would be one of only three first half points from Castledaly with Shane Flynn and Paddy Dowdall been the stand out performers. St Lomans registered five points without reply with John Heslin(3), Paddy Dowdall and Shane Dempsey on target. Castledaly reduced the margin with two points in the closing stages of the half before John Heslin added to his tally with a pointed free after Paul Sharry had been fouled to see St Lomans three points in front at the break.
Castledaly once again were first to score on the resumption of play with a point from Fergal Hynes but it turned out to be a dominant third quarter from St Lomans. John Heslin(2), Paul Sharry and Conradh Reilly added points before Heslin coolly finished to the net with the goal set up by a wonderful catch from man of the match Ciaran Kilmurray. Brian Kelly pointed for Castledaly before the blues once again kicked over points from Shane Dempsey(2), John Heslin and Conradh Reilly. The final quarter belonged to Castledaly and their determination nearly paid off as they scored two goals and three points to bring them right back into contention. St Lomans weathered the storm and a Shane Dempsey point was soon followed by a Garrett Hickey goal who fisted to the net from Dempsey's pass to ensure a valuable seven point win.

Junior Championship
St Lomans Mullingar 1.19 Coralstown Kinnegad 1.03
St Lomans continued their 100% record in the junior championship with a commanding win in Kinnegad on Friday evening last.
Kinnegad opened the scoring with a point but it was St Lomans who had the better of the first half exchanges and replied with points from David Kenny(2), Cormac Corroon and Gerry Farrell while Paraic Mc Comb neatly finished to the net. Kinnegad reduced the margin with a goal before St Lomans began to dominate key areas in defence and midfield with Conor O Donoghue and Paddy Layde particularly impressive. Michael Gleeson, Cormac Corroon(2) and David Kenny all added points to give the blues a seven point half time lead.
The second half turned out to be a completely one sided affair as St Lomans added ten points to ensure an impressive win. Ken Mc Kinley, Adam Gaffney, David Kenny all kicked over points while it was great to see some of our minor players like Eoghan O Keeffe, Paraic Mc Comb, Sean Flanagan, James Cox and Ronan O Toole all gaining experience in an adult competition with two of the latter getting on the score sheet.
