Football Championship:
The second round of the Senior Football Championship took place over the course of the current weekend as did the same stage of the Intermediate championship while the Junior championship worked its way through its sixth round. The headline result from the Senior championship was St Malachys victory over Garrycastle at Moate while there were wins for Tyrrellspass over Bunbrosna, Mullingar Shamrocks over Maryland,St Lomans Mullingar over Castledaly,Coralstown/Kinnegad over Athlone while Killucan and The Downs shared the points in an exciting draw. Mullingar Shamrocks & St Lomans Mullingar remain on full points in Section A after the weekends games while St Malachys and Coralstown/Kinnegad are likewise unbeaten in Section B. At Intermediate level Rosemount set the pace in Section A as they overcame Ballymore; Tang and Ballynacargy drew while Castletown Finea Coole Whitehall had too much in hand for Ballinagore. Section B sees Caulry lead the way as they proved too strong for St Marys Rochfortbridge with Shandonagh and Milltownpass in close pursuit following their wins over Mullingar Shamrocks & Tubberclair respectively. In the Junior Championship Section A, Moate All Whites guaranteed themselves a semi final place with a three point win over St Pauls while Kilbeggan Shamrocks and Multyfarnham had wins over Delvin & St Josephs respectively. There were wins for St Lomans Mullingar and Tubberclair in Section B over Coralstown/Kinnegad and Caulry. St Lomans lead the table in this section while Tubberclair are also in contention for a place in the knock out stages. Hurling Championships take shape:
It was a busy period for our Hurling clubs with a double list of championship fixtures held from Friday 11th to Wednesday 16th July. On Friday 11th St Brigids continued their good form in the Intermediate grade with a 2-12 to 0-9 win over Turin while Castletown Geoghegan had a 1-25 to 1-13 win over Delvin in the Senior Championship. On Saturday 12th July there were three rounds of the Intermediate Championship with victories for Clonkill over Cullion (2-16 to 0-8); Fr Daltons over Brownstown (1-12 to 1-11) and Castletown over Ringtown(6-15 to 1-11) while Raharney had two goals to spare in their 2-17 to 0-17 win over Castlepollard in the Senior Championship.
On Sunday 13th July Clonkill had too much firepower for Lough Lene Gaels as they won by 3-19 to 2-09 to remain unbeaten at Senior level while the action on Monday 14th July centred on the Intermediate grade with four games which saw Fr Daltons gain their second one point win over the weekend with a 2-09 to 1-11 win over Castletown; Cullion & Turin drawing (1-16 to 2-13) and wins for St Brigids over Raharney(2-11 to 1-10) and Ringtown over Clonkill(2-14 to 0-11. Two games were decided on Tuesday 15th July with Brownstown having a 3-17 to 1-11 win over Southern Gaels in the IHC and Castlepollard earning a 1-15 to 2-08 win over Crookedwood in the SHC.
The round of fixtures was completed on Wednesday 16th July with a Senior Championship double header at Cusack Park which saw Clonkill register a 2-25 to 2-7 win over Delvin and Castletown Geoghegan win against Lough Lene Gaels by 1-15 to 1-10.

Ladies Football:
The 2014 TG4 Ladies Gaelic Football Championship was launched last week at Croke Park.
The competition gets underway with qualifier matches on Saturday July26, with matches being shown live on TG4.
Westmeath have drawn Clare in the opening round and following on from the Leinster Semi final defeat to Dublin a few weeks ago will be hopeful of progress against the banner girls. Time & venue to be announced.
AIB Leinster Club Senior Football & Hurling Draws announced
The draws have been made at a meeting of Leinster Council on Thursday 17th July for the 2014 AIB Leinster SFC & SHC.

The first round games will take place on Sunday October 26th with Quarter Finals on Sunday November 9th.  The Semi Finals will take place on Sunday November 23rd with the FINAL on Sunday December 7th. All first named teams will have home venue in all games except the Final which will take place at a Neutral Venue.
