Senior Championship
We played Lough Lene Gaels in the third round of the championship last Wednesday evening in Cusack Park. Knowing The Gaels would be up for revenge after our semi final victory Castletown flew out of the traps and in the opening 10 minutes scoring 1-04 to Lough Lene Gaels single point. it was at that time when The Gaels made some tactical changes which put a hault to our forwards free and open space and subsequently cut off our supply to the inside forward line. The Gaels got their own goal when a mix up in the square from a sideline cut led to the easiest of tap ins for the men from Collinstown. Both teams exchanged blows leading to half time but Lough Lene Gaels would of went in the happier side. The second half picked up where the first half left off and even though Lough Lene Gaels played the better Hurling they found it hard to pull level as the Castletown forwards kept the scoreboard ticking over. With time running out The Gaels went in search of a goal but our backs stood strong and finished up with a winning margain of 5 points. Final Score Castletown Geoghegan 1-15, Lough Lene Gaels 1-10.
