Division 3
St Lomans Mullingar 0.11 Milltown 0.11
St Lomans and Milltown battled out a keenly contested draw in the Division 3 league on Wednesday evening last.
Milltown raced into the lead with four unanswered points in the opening minutes of the game. Cormac Corroon got St Lomans off the mark with a point after been set up by Senan Russell. Miltown responded with a point before St Lomans enjoyed a strong finish to the half and registered points from Cormac Corroon(2), David Kenny and Kenny Mc Kinley. St Lomans defended well in the final quarter holding the home side to just a point that would see them have a slender lead at the break.

Substitute Gerry Farrell opened the scoring at the start of the second half before David Kenny kicked over a brace after great work from the hard working duo of Padraic Mc Comb and Adam Gaffney. Milltown battled back determinedly and levelled the scores as the game entered the final quarter. St Lomans looked like winning the game when two points from Gerry Farrell with one of these been the score of the game and a Cathal Burke score gave them a three point lead. The home side responded once again and registered three points in the final stages to leave the side's level at the final whistle.

Minor League
St Lomans Mullingar 4.12 Garrycastle 5.07
St Lomans rounded off their league campaign with a hard fought win away to Garrycastle on Tuesday night last. Missing a number of regulars due to injuries and holidays this was an excellent performance.

Despite playing into a strong breeze in the first half St Lomans started stronger and thanks to an early goal from Brien Clarke and a second from Ronan O'Toole the blues were well in command coming up to the break. However a penalty award which resulted in our goalie being black carded which the home side converted left only six points between the teams at half-time.

The second half started badly with the concession of an early goal and further setbacks with the loss of two players on second yellow cards. Despite playing the last fifteen minutes with only thirteen players and having their lead cut to one point in the last five minutes St Lomans finished stronger with excellent scores from Declan Colgan and Ronan O'Toole.

It was good to see both Gavin Hanevy and Paddy Lynam back and strong performances from both of the latter together with Sean Flanagan meant a winning finish to the league.

Preparations now turn to the championship!
U8 & U10 Girls
St Lomans hosted a very successful U8 & U10 blitz on Saturday last, with visiting teams from The Downs, Killucan, Delvin/St Pauls and Milltown. With almost 120 players in action, we had an enjoyable morning of highly entertaining football from all the teams involved. It was great to see each of the teams and their supporters coming in such numbers. Thanks to everyone who helped with food and catering for the large crowd. Thanks also to our referees who helped everything to run smoothly on the pitch.
Training as normal next Saturday at 11.00 a.m.
