Carr: we must regroup

Westmeath manager Tom Carr feels that there were many positives to take from their Leinster MFC defeat to Kildare.

At Cusack Park last Saturday, the Lilywhites repeated their 2013 Leinster final victory over the same opposition.

Despite the defeat, Carr was in a positive mood following the game and the former All-Ireland winner was adamant that they could still have a major say in the outcome of the championship.

"Hopefully we can gather ourselves together and have a hard look at where it went wrong in two areas really - the scoring opportunities we missed, both in terms of bad options and bad shooting, and giving away the ball to cheaply," Carr told the Westmeath Examiner.

Westmeath now play Wicklow on May 7th and Carr is confident that they can get their campaign back on track, although he stressed it won't be easy.

"It is not one I'd look forward too. It is a fortress down there, We're going to have to pick things up and we're going to have to be at our best. That's the nature of it."
