Division 1 vs. Tang
On Sunday morning last we made the short trip to play Tang in our fourth outing of the league. Conditions were ideal for a match with a slight breeze in Tangs favour in the first half. We started poorly allowing Tang to score 1-3 in the first few minutes. A lively Keith Malynn found the net for us shortly after to bring us back into the game. John Reilly added a point shortly after but this was to be our final score in what was a disappointing first half. Tang led at half time by 1-6 to 1-1. We started the second half strong and were on top form the start. Frees from David and Kieran Martin brought us back into the game. Tang were reduced to 14 men for a second yellow and this allowed our lads to push on and gets scores through Anthony Reynolds and Tom Browne who was first to react to a Kieran Martin 45 that dropped short. This brought the game back to a single point, a strong run from Kieran Martin shortly after resulted in his cousin David converting to bring the sides even. Tang were further reduced to 13 men for an incident off the ball. A super score from David Martin put us into the lead but this seemed to awaking Tang who scored two points in succession to take the lead back. A point from James Ganly with the last kick of the match drew the sides even. This result registered our first points of the league but perhaps we should have pushed on and took all the points on offer.
