Raharney manager Johnny Greville celebrates after winning the Westmeath SHC Final at Cusack Park
Westmeath minor manager Johnny Greville believes that the Lake County are not in a good place hurling wise.

Greville was speaking after he saw his charges comfortably defeated by Kildare in the opening round of the Leinster minor hurling championship last weekend.

Westmeath hurling has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons this year and Greville told the Westmeath Examiner that he was genuinely concerned for the future of the game in the county.

"Westmeath hurling is not in a good place. I am a staunch Westmeath man. We've an awful lot of players not involved in the inter-county set up," said Greville. "We probably should be where Laois are at now. That's the reality of it."
