Jersey Sponsorship Draw
Southern Gaels are running a draw for the right to sponsor their adult jerseys. First prize is sponsorship of our club jerseys for two years and there are three runners up prizes of sponsorship signs in Pairc Chiaráin for two years. Also anyone who purchases a ticket will also get a tee box sponsorship sign in our annual Golf Classic this June Bank Holiday in Moate Golf Club. Tickets cost €50 are limited to 200 and are available from any club member.

Southern Gaels 1-15 Cullion 1-11
This was a hugely entertaining was played in Pairc Chiaráin, Athlone last Saturday. Cullion played with wind assistance in the first half and led by 0-10 to 1-5. Jack Galvin was excellent at center-field for the visitors with good assistance from center-back James Clarke and Jimmy White. Gaels hung in with some well fashioned points from Fionn Dowd and Tony O'Keeffe. It was a goal direct from a '65 from O'Keeffe that was instrumental in keeping them in touch.
In the second half Gaels scored nine points from play and one '65 to a reply of 1-1 to emerge worthy winners. A solid display from the half-back line with Shane Galvin and Kieran Duncan to the fore was the launching pad for most attacks. Eoghan Cronin was solid at full back with Ryan and Flynn impressive at center-field. However, it was the ever reliable Tony O'Keeffe who scored 1-8 who was the most influential.
Gaels handed debuts to new members Paddy Grace, Donal Hurley and Louis Page and also welcome Tom O'Connor to the club.

Congratulations to Anita and Eoghan Cronin on the birth of a baby daughter recently.

Congratulations to Kieran Duncan, from Tang, who was appointed club captain for the year. Kieran is currently playing on the county senior side.
