Shandonagh Under 16 boys played the third game of their league last Wednesday evening, April 9th, at home against Millmore Gaels. In what proved to be a very competitive and close game right through to the final whistle our lads emerged with a 1 point victory against our near neighbours on a score line of 2-14 to 3-10.

The game was played in good conditions and Millmore took the lead and built up a 4 point lead. The Shandonagh lads came back into the game and scored a number of fine points to trail 1-5 to 0-7 at the break.

In the second half both sides re-doubled their efforts and every ball was keenly contested. The sides traded goals but Shandonagh's better accuracy in point taking saw them edge in front with 10 minutes to go. Millmore responded and scored a goal to restore their lead, with the tension growing a break away move by Shandonagh lead to their winning goal.

Well done to all who took part in a memorable game.

Please monitor the text messages for the next training sessions and dates for games.

Division II Fixtures

On Sunday next, Shandonagh take on St Malachy's at 3:00pm in Shandonagh in the All County Football League Division 2 competition. This is the 4th round in this competition and to date we have only won one of the previous 3 games. This will be a very tough assignment for our boys as even though Shandonagh managed to emerge victorious against this club last year in the championship, St Malachy's went on to win the intermediate championship in fine style subsequently. Jim Rock is scheduled to referee the game. Team management would appeal to all players to make themselves available for this important fixture as the turnout at the most recent games have been disappointing to say the least.

Division VI 'Outcome'

On Saturday last we were scheduled to play Loughnavalley in the ACFL Division vi competition. Unfortunately, we were unable to field, as a number of our players failed to show up for the game.

Well Done!

The club would like to say well done to the boys of St Kenny N.S who have reached their Cumman na Bunscoil finals in hurling and to the girls who have reached their Cumman na Bunscoil finals in football. Best of luck in the Finals, Boys and Girls and we hope that you bring home some silverware.
