St Lomans Mullingar 1.08 Milltownpass 0.11
The U16 squad opened their league campaign with a hard fought draw in Milltownpass on Monday evening last.
Milltownpass were quickest out of the blocks and took an early lead with three unanswered points. Fola Ayorinde got St Lomans off the mark with a well take score. The home side once again extended their lead with two points with one coming from the menacing Finbar Coyne. St Lomans finally settled into the game with Eoin Fox and Mark Tubridy registering points. Milltownpass led by three points at the break but it could easily have been level only for a few wonderful saves from the opposition goalkeeper.
St Lomans started the second half in determined mood and a Shane Broughan goal levelled the scores after a Jonathon Nugent pass. Both teams traded scores throughout the half in what was turned out to be a keenly contested encounter and points from Fola Ayorinde, Eoin Fox and Shane Broughan gave the blues a two point lead. Three unanswered points from the home side looked to have given them the win but an injury time score from Jack Tyas left both sides level as the final whistle sounded.

St Lomans Mullingar 7.07 Rosemount 3.15
The U16 squad completed a busy week with a win against Rosemount in Lakepoint Park. The adverse weather resulted in the game been played on the 3G pitch and the perfect surface conditions resulted in a thrilling game with both sides deserving huge credit for their efforts.
Rosemount raced into an early lead with points from Niall Hannify and Sean Pettit(2). St Lomans responded in perfect fashion with two well taken goals from Shane Broughan and Mikey Scally. The away side again sent over three unanswered points to the level the scores. Eoin Fox pointed two frees before some well worked team moves saw St Lomans rattle the net again with goals from Adam Kennedy and Jonathon Nugent. Rosemount dominated the final ten minutes of the half and registered two goals and three points but a Fola Ayorinde goal ensured a one point lead for the blues at the break.
The second half continued in similar fashion to the first half with plenty of scores registered. Eoin Fox, Jonathon Nugent, Mikey Scally and Frank Kavanagh all pointed to extend St Lomans advantage before Rosemount reduced the margin with a goal. Substitute Declan Colgan kicked over a wonderful point from distance and the game looked beyond doubt when Fola Ayorinde fisted to the net. The away side responded in determined fashion and sent over three points once again. The score of the game came when centre forward Eoin Fox cut through the opposition defence and buried his left footed strike to the net. The final ten minutes proved tense as the blues battled to hold on. Rosemount managed to reduce the margin with a goal and a point but the blues held on to win by a four point margin.

There was no jackpot winner from the lotto draw on April 2nd. The numbers drawn were 9,11,19,25. Winners of €50 each were Darren Mills, Marco, Joe Matthews & Johnny Nooney. Next week's jackpot will be €4,300.
