Keep Safe

We  wish all our club members, players and supporters  the very best during this difficult time and encourage everyone to keep safe and respect the guidelines issued by the HSE.

Club Grounds Reopening

As the GAA received the green light to return to activity,  our pitch has now reopened. We are delighted to be able to welcome back our members, but we are advising everyone that there are now new procedures in place in line with national guidelines to help prevent the spread of Covid-19. There is an onus on everyone to ensure that we do this in a safe manner and follow the Govt & HSE guidelines at all times. The first group to return to training were our senior squad, with other groups scheduled for return over the coming weeks.  All coaches and management teams have communicated dates & times to the various age groups and have advised all players and parents of the new guidelines for a safe return to hurling for everyone.  The latest edition of the GAA Return to Games protocols have been sent on to all members & parents and it is advised to read and keep up to date with the documents see http://learning.gaa.ie/covid-19.   To return to training/competition for remainder of 2020, following the restrictions, once a player has a valid membership, the eLearning Module must be completed (save or print the certificate of completion), and the health questionnaire must be submitted to the team Covid-19 Supervisor. For all players from Minor to nursery, a parent or guardian completes the eModule and health questionnaire on their behalf.   Once the first training session has taken place, the health status must be reconfirmed before each subsequent session.   One of the important things to note is that there will be no access to changing rooms, access to toilets is only allowed.

Condolences

Castlepollard Hurling club were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of one our greatest ever hurling stars, Tommy Ring.

Captain of our 1961 championship winning team, Tommy moved to Dublin where he continued to immerse himself in the GAA and was widely known in Dublin hurling circles. Tommy returned to Castlepollard to train our senior panel in 1993 and his roots always remained in the Blue and Gold.

To his wife Therese, his daughters Martina, Eimear and Marion, sons Ted, Con and Killian, sisters Nina and Marjorie, relatives and friends we offer our deepest sympathies. May he rest in peace.  Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Bingo/Lotto

Due to the ongoing concerns about the Corona Virus and in the health and safety of all our Bingo/Lotto patrons and helpers, we have taken the decision to suspend our Club Bingo & Lotto Draw until further notice. The welfare of our friends and Bingo/Lotto patrons is paramount. We know you will understand that the country is facing a very tough time ahead and we all have a responsibility to play our part in trying to stop the spread of this virus. Stay safe and we will be back very soon.

All tickets purchased will be entered in the first draw after the suspension is lifted.   Once again thanks for your continued support of Castlepollard Hurling Club and stay safe!
