Club Activities

All club activities continue to be on hold as the nation fights back against the Covid-19 virus. We urge all members and the community at large to remain vigilant and take care in your daily activities. We want to ensure that nobody in the community is left isolated at any stage so if anyone out there needs prescriptions or shopping collected or you need some assistance, then please don't hesitate to contact any of our club members.

Club Lotto

Our weekly club lotto has been postponed from this week until further notice. All subscription entries will be entered in the next lotto draw when scheduled.

Club Membership

Membership for 2020 is now due. Rates are unchanged from last year with options available to suit individuals and families for gym, full and social membership.

New Arrival

The club sends it congratulations and best wishes to Liz and Mike Denver on the birth of their daughter, Mia.

As we mark our 100 year anniversary this year, we have been regularly posting old club photos on our social media pages. We will also include some of our old news paper reports starting this week with club notes from the 18th April, 1982: Ballinagore had a comfortable victory over St. Fintan's in the Championship on Sunday last in Ballynacargy. The score was Ballinagore 2-11, St. Fintan's 0-02. Playing wih a strong wind in the first half Ballinagore had a point from the throw in from Walter Carroll. Further points were added by Ger Linnane and Aidan O'Brien. In the eighth minute, Ger Linnane scored a goal. The Ballinagore midfield was rampant with Walter Carroll giving a good impression of Mick O'Connell in his heyday. The long through ball was paying dividends with Gerry Linnane at full forward causing havoc. Aidan O'Brien picked off some nice points. From the eighth minute on, points were added by Dan Grehan, Jim Mahon and Pat Deegan. A Streete back also deflected a cross from Ger Linnane over his own cross bar. This left the score 1-07 to 0-00 after twenty minutes. A long through ball from Walter Carroll was fumbled by the Saints goalie and a back, in attempting to clear, hit Dan Grehan and the ball ended up in the net. Aidan O'Brien then added another point to leave the score at half time, 2-08 to no score. The second half began with a point from Aidan O'Brien. Ballinagore never gave St. Fintans a chance to settle on the ball and their half back line played very well especially Tim Connor and Jim Mahon. Further points were added by A O'Brien and J O'Brien. In the last ten minutes, St Fintans added two points to leave the final score 2-11 to 0-02. The whole Ballinagore team played very well and their fast, direct football was a delight to watch. However one just has to mention Walter Carroll who surely must have the finest pair of hands in Westmeath. Aidan O'Brien also took his scores very well. Subs: Peter Deegan for JJ Gannon, Kevin Reynolds for D Grehan, Rory O'Brien for J O'Brien, J Deegan, G Alexander, F O'Brien and M Connor. Next Sunday we play St. Paul's in the U21 Championship at Milltownpass at 2pm. Training continues at 8pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The following have been chosen as underage captains for the coming year: Minor Captain: Aidan O'Brien; Vice Captain: Kevin Deegan; Under 16 Captain: Jimmy Marshall; Vice Captain: John Seery; Under 14 Captain: Tom Connor; Vice Captain: Kevin Claffey; Under 12 Captain: Martin Seery; Vice Captain: Ronan Maxwell; Schools Captain: Enda O'Brien; Vice Captain: John Gannon.
