Juvenile Mentors' Meeting

Southern Gaels held an Orientation Night for all Juvenile Mentors in Pairc Chiaráin last Thursday. I t was well attended and club Chairman Martin Geary and Secretary Frank Lee went through all the procedures and club policies with all the mentors. There were discussions on Coaching, Code of Behaviour, First Aid, Health, Safety and Wellbeing, Club Policies and Child Protection. All enquirers re hurling at these age groups will be catered for. Indoor training continues in the Marist Gym on Retreat Road every Tuesday as follows, Under 7's 6.15 - 7.00 and Under 9's 7.00 - 7.45. All are welcome and hurls and helmets are provided for beginners. Under 11's and Under 13's train every Sunday from 5.00 to 6.00 at the Gael Scoil on Brawney Road. Weather depending outdoor training will begin in April.

 

Intermediate Training.

The team are in the All County League Division Three and this commences next weekend. There is one round of the Championship and Southern are pitted against Ringtown. All players are encouraged to give full commitment to Enda Dowd's training programme to ensure a victory. Any hurlers out there wishing to join the adult squad ring Kevin at 087 7989941.

 

County Minors

Chullainn Dowd, Cian Mc Carthy and Evan Farrell are currently training with the county squad and they will be playing League fixtures shortly.
