New season upon us
Our 2020 season gets underway this Saturday, February 22 when we host Killucan in Division 3 of the All-County League.
John Gordon takes charge of the team for the first time for the game which throws-in at 2pm in St James' Park. We wish him and his selectors Keith Gorry and Sean Rochford the best of luck for the coming year.
Meanwhile, we learned last week that Maryland will be our IFC first round opponents on the weekend of April 18 / 19. The other teams in our group are St Malachy's, Ballymore, Ballynacargy and Milltown.
Last Man Standing
There were three fallers in our Last Man Standing National League competition last weekend, leaving just 10 still in the running for the €400 prize.
Next weekend sees another double round of football and hurling action, the fixtures for which will be sent to those still in contention.
Lotto
Last week's lucky numbers were 9, 13, 18 and 19. Irene Plunkett, Paula Guilfoyle, Peter Guilfoyle, Dermot Smith, Stephanie McCann, Frank Larrigy and K McCarthy were the Match 3 winners. This week's draw takes place in McNamara's with the jackpot standing at €13,900. Tickets, costing €2, can be purchased locally. Thank you for your continued support.
The late Teresa Kinahan
We extend our sympathy to the Kinahan family, Clara Road on the passing of Teresa, who was in her 96th year. May she rest in peace.
