Annual General Meeting

We held our AGM on Sunday evening in our clubhouse. Great credit goes to Mark King and Sean Delaney for preparing and presenting very detailed secretary and treasurer reports which outlined in huge detail the enormous amount of work and activity that has been ongoing throught the year. We also had detailed Scor and Rounders reports presented by Shane Heraty. Mentors from the different age groups provided updates on our underage teams. There was plenty of debate and discussion on a whole range of topics with our club developments, the fortunes of our junior team this year and motions for the upcoming county convention being just three of the main items. In his address, chairman Liam McDaniel thanked everyone who helped out with all club activities over the year, an extensive list indeed! Liam thanked our team manager for the last two seasons, Ray Sheridan, for his hard work while he asked for continued focus on our development plans in 2020 when we will also hopefully see better fortune on the field under new manager, Gerry Feery. The following committee were elected for the forthcoming year: Chairperson: Liam McDaniel, Vice Chairperson: Kevin Deegan, Treasurer: Sean Delaney, Vice Treasurer: Jerome Robinson, Secretary: Mark King, Assistant Secretary: TBC, Registrar: Darren Rigney, Irish Language Officer: Shane Heraty, PRO: Paul Seery, Childrens Officer: TBC, Players Rep: TBC, Co Board Delegates: Seamus Ennis, Liam McDaniel, Shane Heraty, Lotto Secretary: Martin and Steph McCann, Club Draw Co-ordinator: Paul Seery and Darren Rigney, Committee members: Sean Claffey, Enda Kenny, Martin Linnane, Gerry Claffey, Martin McCann.

Scór na nÓg Leinster Semi Final

Hard luck to Jemma Seery who represented our Westmeath in the Leinster semi-final of solo-singing in Oldcastle, Co. Meath on Sunday afternoon. Jemma sang The Winding Road Down To Kells Bay and she gave a beautiful performance which was very well received by the large audience. Unfortunately, Jemma didn't get the nod from the adjudicator on the day. However Jemma can be very proud of herself as she represented our club and county with distinction and pride. Well done to all who qualified and especially to our fellow Westmeath competitors.

New Manager

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Gerry Feery as junior team manager for the upcoming 2020 season. Gerry has previously managed our team to our first and only Intermediate title in 2007. Gerry has amassed a huge amount of managerial experience since then with various clubs including Killucan, Milltownpass, Clonmore in Offaly among others so we are delighted with this news and are looking forward to the season ahead.
