Garrycastle Jim McHugh Memorial U12 Tournament Plate Final

Lilliput Gaels 6-08  Maryland/Tang 2-06

Lilliput Gaels put in a massive performance in the plate final of the Garrycastle tournament played under lights in AIT Athlone on Friday 25th October. The pitch was looking super even after all the rain that had fallen all day. Our young boys were very focused for this game and even when we were rocked by an early goal and a point, we bounced back with five unanswered points of our own. We then hit a purple patch midway through the first half with three brilliant worked goals one after another. This gave us an eight point advantage at the break. We needed to stay focused in the second half to keep the goals out and keep the scoreboard ticking over. That we did and despite our opponents grabbing a goal we clocked up three more brilliant goals and a few points to runout deserving winners. Well done to the management team and the boys whoy have worked very hard at their game all year and have improved with every match. Team: Dylan Birch, Conor Maloney, Aaron Jackson, Shane Maloney, Sean Bolger, Fionn McKinley, Dara Mulligan, Dylan Corrigan, Cian Corcoran, Luke Robinson, Patrick Maloney, Eoin Carey, Eoin Bolger, Rory Quinn, David O’Malley. Subs: Gavin Ennis, Ciaran Doran, Fionn Jackson, Oisin McCabe, Dara Fagan, Frazier Young.

U12 Football League

Lilliput Gaels 4-12  St Mary’s, Rochfortbridge 3-09

We played our final league game of the year in Rochfortbrige on Sunday 27th October in what was a very competitive and sporting game. We were unbeaten in our league division but the opposition made us work right until the final whistle for this one with two late goals getting us over the line. Right from the throw in this was close and despite St Mary’s rocking us with two goals midway through the first half we responded with 1-03 to leave it level at the break. The second half ebbed and flowed with the game level heading into the last five minutes when we struck for two late goals to sneak a win. Our thanks to St Mary’s for a very sporting game and for the refreshments after. This wraps up our season, finishing on a high with two great wins in as many days. Our thanks to all the boys on their work ethic and committment throughout the year. Team. Dylan Birch, Fionn Jackson, Aaron Jackson, Shane Maloney, Conor Maloney, Fionn McKinley, Dara Mulligan, Cian Corcoran, Dylan Corrigan, Luke Robinson, Patrick Maloney, Gavin Ennis, Oisin McCabe, Rory Quinn, Dara Fagan. Subs: Conor Robinson, Frazier Young, Lennon Swan.
