Garrycastle and Westmeath star James Dolan knows that it will take a huge effort to defeat St Loman’s in the county SFC final this Sunday.

St Loman’s are favourites to lift the Flanagan Cup for a fourth time in five years, but standing in their way are a rejuvenated Garrycastle side.

If the Athlone based outfit are to beat the odds and win, then much will hinge on the performance of their talismanic wing back.

Speaking to the Westmeath Independent, Dolan stressed that they will have to be at their best to see off the Mullingar outfit.

“We’re very aware of the challenge that lies in store for us. We played them earlier in the year and they thought us a lesson,” stated Dolan.

“We know the calibre of players those boys have, but we are looking forward to the challenge. It’s our first county final since 2014 so we are delighted to be back and hopefully we can do a job on the day. I have every confidence in the team; St Loman’s might be the favourites , but we’re not going over to Mullingar to make up the numbers.”
