Westmeath defender Tommy Doyle feels that they need to forget about the Offaly win and focus on their next challenge.

That challenge will be in the form of Kerry at Cusack Park, Mullingar on Saturday afternoon as the Lake County look to make it two wins from two.

Joe Quaid’s charges caused a massive surprise in their first outing last weekend when defeating Offaly by 13 points.

Nonetheless, Doyle stressed to the Westmeath Topic that they must repeat that performance against the Kingdom.

“The players are always working hard and looking for the ball and we are beginning to gel together now,” said Doyle.

“We have to keep replicating that now. We must be wary of Kerry this coming weekend. We have beaten them twice. It’s hard to beat a team twice and it is even more difficult to beat a team three times, but if we keep repeating what we are doing in training, we won’t be too far away.”
