Féile 2019 Next Sunday

All roads lead to Castletown Geoghan next Sunday as our U14s take to the field in this year’s Féile competition. Facing them will be the home side and Delvin and there are sure to be great challenges when these teams throw-in for this prestigious tournament. Winners of this group will go on to the semi-final and if successful there will compete in a finla to see which team is selected to travel to Cork for this year’s national competition.

Castletown Geoghan face SGU12s

Wednesday night sees game two of the U12 league being played in Páirc Chiaráin with Gaels facing Castletown Geoghan. After the disappointing first outing against Fr. Dalton’s the U12s are eager to get back on track with a win to build on the work they have done so far this week. All support is greatly appreciated so get down for the 7 o’clock throw-in if possible

U16s challenge Pearses

When finished watching the U12s play why not head over to watch the U16s play a challenge match against Pearses of Roscommon. Throw in is at 7.30 if you want to watch all of the match. These matches are invaluable to this emerging squad and they will undoubtedly build on their recent performances.

Last Man Standing 2019

Our hugely popular Last Man Standing competition has just started and already the predictions are flying in. For 5 euro you are asked to predict a winning team from each week of the forthcoming championship. If successful and you end up the Last Man Standing and the only person left in the competition you win a stay in the Sheraton Hotel or 150 euro. Contact a club member for a form to be in with a chance of winning.

Hurling Only Cúl Camp in Páirc Chiaráin

Don’t forget to book your place on this year’s Hurling/Camogie/Rounders Cúl Camp running the first week of July (1st to 5th). Booking can be done online at https://www.kelloggsculcamps.gaa.ie/ and further details about the camp can be found here. This is a great opportunity to sharpen your hurling and camogie skills and to learn the great game of rounders if you haven’t before.

Membership and Registration

Thanks to all who registered for membership during the month. Not only is it essential for insurance purposes but these membership fees allow us to grow and develop. If you haven’t registered yet please contact a coach or committee member for details. Of course, if you would like to support Southern Gaels without picking up a hurley why not become a Social Member for 25 euro. Again, get in touch for details.
