Athlone Club Notes

March 11, 2019

ACFL:
Our senior men's Division 1 match away to neighbours Garrycastle was called off on Sunday morning, when Garrycastle's pitch was deemed unplayable after the heavy overnight rain.  It wasn't possible to transfer the game to Páirc Chiaráin as all pitches were in use for underage training so it will be rescheduled for a later date.  On Saturday afternoon, our Division 3 team took on St Malachys in Castletown-Geoghegan and the depleted squad put in another good performance against the hosts' first team, before going down on a scoreline of 1-16 to 1-10.  The next round of men's league fixtures is scheduled for the weekend of March 22nd-24th, when we are scheduled to play Coralstown-Kinnegad at home in Division 1 and Moate All-Whites at home in Division 3, with the start times and dates to be confirmed in due course.
