Scór na nÓg Semi-Final

A large contingent of supporters travelled to Milltown on Sunday afternoon to cheer on our competitors in the first of this years semi-finals. We had three acts participating - reigning county champions in solo-singing and recitation, Jemma Seery and Shane King, along with our young but hugely talented instrumental group of Emma O'Brien, Ellen Daly, Anne Reynolds, Sean and Rose Macken. With it being the 50th anniversary of Scór and with the continuing resurgence in the competitions popularity, there was a very large schedule of performers with twelve clubs in total taking part - there was nine different entrants in the solo-singing alone! The competition for places in the final was high and it was going to take special performances to qualify but that is what our gang did as they each and all put in impressive performances to earn the judges nods and progress to the county final on Sunday December 2nd. Well done to all our young members and well done also to the other qualifiers on the day. Next Sunday, the second semi-final takes place in Delvin at 2pm and we have another young contestant, Caoibhe Geraghty, performing for our Rounders club in the solo-singing there. We wish Caoibhe the very best of luck!

 

Cumann na mBunscoil Boys Football

Ballinagore 1-06  Raharney 4-09

Our school team came up against a very strong Raharney side on Thursday last played in Raharney. Right from the throw in we knew we were in a tough match against a very big physical team. To our boys credit we really got stuck in and played very well throughout the match with some very good honest defending. In the second half in particular we got some great scores and played our hearts out until the final whistle . We have one game left in our group against another big school in Rathwire.

 

Annual General Meeting

Our AGM will take place on Friday 30th November at 19:30. This is our clubs most important meeting every year and we encourage all to come along, be informed and get involved in the running of our club.

 

Fitness Classes

We're spoilt for choice with our latest schedule of fitness classes! Following on from our last set, with the addition of an extra Yogalates class plus the challenging and fun BodyTone class, you will be as fit as a fiddle for Christmas! Just pick the class you want and turn up. Schedule is as follows:

Walking Track Lights

Our lights are on between 7pm and 9.30pm on Tuesday and Friday evenings for members who want to get out and active.

Last weeks winning numbers were 4, 23, 25 and 28. There was no match 3 winners. Next weeks jackpot stands at €10,100. Please support our club lotto for just €2 each week, available from club members.

Congratulations to Robert and Adele Mizzell on the birth of their baby son, Leo. Congratulations also to Deirdre and David Kelly, Lisakelly, Ballinagore on the christening of their baby girl, Julieanne. Finally, welcome to Patrick, Lisa and baby Felicity Syron now living in Killinlahan, Ballinagore.
