Holders St. Loman's and Mullingar Shamrocks will meet in an all-Mullingar Westmeath SFC final following their respective victories over Garrycastle and Tyrrellspass yesterday.

Second half goals from newcomers TJ Cox and Chris Gilbert helped four-in-a-row chasing St. Loman's to a 2-10 to 0-12 win over Garrycastle in the first of the semi-final double-bill at TEG Cusack Park. Garrycastle led by 0-6 to 0-4 at half-time after playing with the wind, but faded after the restart and finished with 14 men after former Roscommon star Ger Heneghan was red-carded just moments after coming on as a sub.

In the other semi-final, Mullingar Shamrocks continued their revival under Ned Moore when they edged out a fancied Tyrrellspass by 0-10 to 0-9 thanks to Tye Adamson's late winning free. The Springfield outfit can now start preparing for their first final since 2014 on October 21 against the champions, who are managed by former Sharmocks player Luke Dempsey.
