U16 Football Championship Semi-Final

Lilliput Gaels 7-16 Multyfarnham 3-05

Our U16 footballers played host to Multyfarnham in the semi-final of the championship on Saturday in sunny Ballinagore and came away with a comprehensive win after a dominant display. Right from the throw in, our lads took the game to our opponents with Cody Finnane scoring an early goal to settle us in. Multy worked tirelessly to keep our forwards at bay and despite hitting the woodwork twice in the opening half, we were in a commanding position at half time, leading 3-07 to 0-02. In the second half, we were a bit wasteful early on with a number of wides but soon got the scoreboard ticking over with a selection of fine points. To their credit, Multy never gave up and were rewarded with well taken goals towards the end. However, in their efforts to close the gap, their back line was stretched and we finished strong with a few well taken goals ourselves to finish comprehensive winners in the end. This was a fine team performance with all the lads playing well and working hard for each other. We now play Inny Shamrocks in the final and with only three points separating the sides when we met earlier in the summer, it promises to be a battle royale. Well done lads! Well Done Tommy

Just months after suffering horrific facial injuries playing in the opening round of the Dublin Senior Championship, Tommy McDaniel made his return to the playing field last weekend when he lined out against St. Vincent's in the SFC quarter final. It wasn't Castleknocks day as they lost out to Vincent's but Tommy showed that class is permanent when he put in a storming perfomance, scoring 0-03. Great to see you back in action Tommy!

Best of Luck Kilbeggan

We want to wish our neighbours, Kilbeggan Shamrocks, and their manager and former Ballinagore manager, Keith Higgins, the very best of luck in the Junior Championship Final on Saturday where the take on Ballinacargy.
