JFC v St. Joseph's

Already assured of a JFC semi-final place, we completed our group campaign with a 5-12 to 0-6 victory over neighbours St. Joseph's in Rosemount last Sunday afternoon.

First half goals from Paul Fennell, Sean Maher, who made his championship debut for us at full forward, Dean Fitzgerald and Jamie Stone had propelled us to a 4-5 to 0-5 half-time lead before Finbar Coffey came off the bench to add a fifth in the second half. Our opponents in the semi-final, which will take place on the weekend after next, should be known after next weekend's quarter-final action.

Team: Thomas Barrett; Darragh Coffey, James Fox, Ciaran Egan; Niall Carey, Shaun Pidgeon, Mel Kiernan; Dean Fitzgerald, David Fennell; Jamie Stone, Alan Fennell, Keith Corcoran; Paul Fennell, Sean Maher, James Finnegan. Subs used: Aaron McNamee, Brendan McMahon, Finbar Coffey and Ryan Coughlan.

Our ladies enjoyed a big win over Ballycomoyle in Ballycomoyle last Tuesday to qualify for an intermediate championship semi-final against Coralstown/Kinnegad. That game will take place this Tuesday, September 11 at 7.30pm at a venue to be confirmed. Extra-time will be played if necessary. Best of luck, ladies!

Last week's lucky numbers were 5, 6, 10 and 13. There were seven Match 3 winners - Sham Guilfoyle, Brenda Smith, Jean Gannon, Tom McManus, Frank Larrigy, Kevin Booth and 'The Fab Four' . This week's draw will take place in Larrigy's with the jackpot standing at €15,000. Tickets, costing €2, can be bought from local shops and pubs. Thank you for your continued support.
