Rosemount manager Benny O’Brien admits they are meeting the form team of the group in this weekend’s SFC clash against Garrycastle.

The former champions are unbeaten and one point ahead of Rosemount in the table as we head into the latest round of group games.

The sides meet in Athlone on Sunday evening and O’Brien told the Westmeath Independent that his charges will have to be at their best if they are to get anything from the game.

“Garrycastle are the form team in our group and we’re expecting them to do everything in their power to maintain their 100% winning record,” said O’Brien.

“This year’s senior championship has been very competitive; there’s been no easy games and you can’t afford to become complacent. People might say it is a must win game for us, but to be honest the way the championship has panned out, all our games are must win matches.

“The top two teams from our group will go into the quarterfinals and we’ll be doing everything in our power to be in the mix.I haven’t had the opportunity to see Garrycastle in the championship this year but I have a fair idea what kind of a game they will bring on Sunday evening. They are the league champions so we know we’re going to be in for a tough battle.”
