Clonkill and Brownstown lead way in Div 1

The All-county hurling league Division One campaign is at the midway stage and its Clonkill and surprise packets Brownstown who lead the way.

Both sides have six points on the board, but Clonkill have played a game extra, winning two and drawing two, while Brownstown have won all three of their games.

The Blues were promoted last year and have hit the ground running with wins over Lough Lene Gaels, Castletown-Geoghegan and Castlepollard last weekend.

Clonkill hit top form last weekend and inflicted a first defeat on Delvin who have four points from a possible six and lie in fourth position, one point behind Raharney.

County champions Castletown-Geoghegan are in fifth, ahead of Lough Lene Gaels, Crookedwood and Castlepollard who are bottom of the table with no points from three games.
