Scór na nOg

The club are extremely proud to have had 2 groups representing club, county and province in Sligo on Saturday last for the All Ireland Scór na nOg Finals.

Our Leiriu Novelty Act were first up and did not disappoint. Mentors Trudie Rowan and Noel Lynam came up with another original and hilarious 10 minute sketch entitled "The High Five Code". Our group put on a great show and despite stiff competition from the other provincial winners, came out on top with the judges to secure a second national title in 4 years. We salute and thank the young actors who have brought this accolade to Scór Na Dúnta: Emily Shaw, Katie Moore, Grace O'Neill, Alan Colgan, Tom Tuite, Dónal Doherty, Ryan Molloy, and Rory Sheil.

Set dancing as always was the last discipline on the clár and the standard was exceptional. Our group were up first and gave a flawless performance of the Roscommon Lancers Set. 3 other very high standard performances followed but the impressive Spa outfit from Kerry got the judge's nod. Again, we thank and salute the skill and dedication of our dancers for the marvellous entertainment all year and remember ye are still County and Leinster Champions! Coached by the marvellous Alice and Brenda Deihy, the group consisted of Anna Fallon, Dónal Doherty, Andrew Shaw, Emma Thompson, Caoimhe Monaghan, Cathal Dagg, Eoghan Murray and Neasa Mangan-Lynch.

A big thank you to all our supporters that continue to follow Scór Na Dúnta all over the country.
We also congratulate Ballynagore on their double representation at the All Irelands. Young Jemma Seery has a very bright future in the solo singing and the Table Quiz team also performed very well in a very competitive competition. Finally, well done to MC Hugo Slevin of St. Joseph's, another Scór Iarmhi representative on the main stage.

Scór Sinsir County Final

We host the Adult Scór County Final this Saturday night which starts at 730pm. Good luck to our Figure Dancers, Solo Singers and Set Dancers and all participants. We believe our All Ireland Champions have been invited to perform the "High Five Code" one more time as special guests of Scór Iarmhí.

Bingo jackpot €3,300

Bingo continues every Friday at 8.30, come along and bring a friend for an enjoyable night's entertainment.

Minor League

Our minor lads opened their league account with a victory over neighbours Kinnegad, last Sunday Morning. The game was played in difficult conditions and it remained a close contest with both teams finding it hard to get scores on the board in the opening half. Half Time The Downs led 0-5 to 0-3. Our lads then seemed to find an extra gear in the second half and began to pull away to run out deserving winners on a 1-10 to 0-6 score line.
