Next Saturday is one of the most important days in the club's year as our annual under-age registration takes place between 10.30am and 1.00pm. Underage coaching resumes on Saturday, 3 March at 10.30am

 

Last Man Standing

This weekend's results were kind to our pundits in Last Man Standing: Two people who believed Kerry would beat Monaghan in the Clones departed the race to the finish while the seven who chose Derry to defeat Offaly continue and join the twenty-two or so who survived from last week.

 

Sigerson Cup

 

Congratulations to Patrick Fagan who was a member of the UCD panel that won the Sigerson Cup at the weekend by defeating NUIG in the final on Saturday. Patrick joins a small band of Mullingar Shamrocks footballers who include a Sigerson Cup medal in their collection.

 

Mullingar Shamrocks Lights Up the GAA

Mullingar Shamrocks Lights Up the GAA initiative in conjunction with Operation Transformation concludes next Monday night, 26 February; the Walkway floodlights will be switched on between 7pm and 9pm. Margaret Clinton, Madeline Flynn and Joan Ormsby, the group leaders, will be present, with the organised walk commencing at 7.30.

 

Membership Fees:

It's that time of year again, unfortunately, when membership fees are due for renewal.

Our three registrars, Anthony Clinton, Karen Hegarty and Des Maguire (or any other member of the executive) are available to receive the relevant fees for 2018 which are:

Full Membership: (Over-18 playing with full voting rights at AGM and eligible to hold positions in club), €50.

Social Membership/Youth Membership/Full-time 3rd level Student Membership: (Eligible to participate in all club social activities and includes playing membership for Youth members and Full-Time 3rd level students). €30.

Family Membership: (2x adult social membership and juvenile registration for children), €100.

Fixtures

Minor League: Sunday, 25 February 2017. Mullingar Shamrocks V Lilliput Gaels in Ballinagore at 11.00 am.

 

It's not easy being an eighteen-year-old Mullingar Shamrocks footballer at the moment: Our two previous fixtures in this competition on the past two Sundays against Tubberclare and Tyrrellspass failed to take place so hopefully this fixture will survive.

 

Under-13 Leinster League: Mullingar Shamrocks v Tullamore, Sunday 25 February 2017 at 4.00 pm at a Mullingar venue.

Winners top the group in their Leinster League group.
