Killucan defeated in Minor League:

Kilbeggan/St Josephs minors overcame Killucan by 5-7 to 4-8 in testing conditions at St James' Park Kilbeggan on Sunday morning.

Aidan Stone, Conor Carroll, Brian Keegan, Niall Carey and goalkeeper Diarmuid Egan were among those to impress as we held off a late comeback from the visitors. As we received a walkover from Inny Shamrocks in the first round, we now have full points after two rounds in Division 3 of the minor league. With more players still to come back into contention, this group is showing some good early season promise so keep it going lads.

Panel on Sunday: Diarmuid Egan, Martin Ward, Declan Rogers, Conor Carroll, Aidan Stone, Dean Slevin, Darragh Coffey, James Hanlon, Niall Carey, Brian Keegan, Cathal Finn, Ross Tormey,Michael Murphy,Mark Wrafter.

Scór news:

Well done to our own clubman Hugo Slevin who was honoured to be chosen as Fear An Tí at last weekend's All Ireland Scór na nÓg finals in Sligo on Saturday 17th February. Hugo is no stranger to the All Ireland Stage having won twice at All Ireland finals in recent years so it was no surprise that he handled the final with aplomb. Well done Hugo, you did the club proud. This coming week sees St Josephs head into the County Scór finals in three events namely Recitation,Leiriu and Quiz. We hold the county titles in all three events so hopefully one or maybe even all of the crowns can be held in this years competition. It wont be easy and all we can do is wish all our representatives well in the county final. Congratulations to all the Westmeath competitors in last weeks Scór na nÓg All Ireland with special mention to The Downs who claimed the Leiriu crown.
