On the Ball

Next Saturday night (20 January) in the Greville Arms Hotel (Doors open at 8.00pm) we present our On the Ball, a night of GAA craic and discussion featuring Joe Brolly, Bernard Flynn, Dessie Dolan and John Mullane, four of the most exciting and opinionated pundits in the business. Michael Duignan will be master of ceremonies and will control the discussion and issue black, yellow or red cards as necessary. Conor's Sketches, starring Conor Moore supplying the voices and mannerisms of a wide cast of legends in their own minds will also entertain the masses. A word of warning to our friends and members: Don't get left outside as tickets are selling fast and are available at the Greville Arms Hotel or from any committee member or club officer (Tel:086-8069007). They are also available to purchase online via the following link: https://mullingarshamrocks.clubifyapp.com/products.

Operation Transformation and Mullingar Shamrocks

Ireland Lights Up with the GAA is a national initiative to improve the health of the country through GAA clubs and communities across Ireland. Mullingar Shamrocks GAA Club has climbed on board the Operation Transformation bandwagon and is turning on the club's floodlights/lighting systems between 7-pm-9pm each Monday for a six-week period (22nd January - 26th February, 2018) as Operation Transformation returns to our screens for 2018. Even better the lights will be switched on every evening during the months of the dark evenings. Do you want to get moving and active this New Year, but you have nowhere to go? Do you find it hard to find a safe and well-lit area to go a walk during the dark winter months?

Well, Mullingar Shamrocks GAA Club has the answer!

We're on board with the Operation Transformation and the GAA for Ireland Lights Up. Every Monday from the 22nd January - 26th February 2018 Mullingar Shamrocks GAA club will be open and lit up for you, your family and friends to come and walk from 7pm to 9pm.

We want everyone to come and join for Ireland Lights Up 2018! All are welcome to participate.

Scór na nÓg Quiz

Mullingar Shamrocks fielded 3 teams in the Scór na nÓg quiz in Streamstown on Friday night. Our 3 teams performed well but the ultimate victory went to Ballinagore who came from behind in the final round to pip Ballycomoyle and Southern Gaels in what was a cracking quiz with the more senior Mullingar Shamrocks team in fourth place. Teams were as follows:
A team: Rory Sullivan Sexton, Mark Flynn, Sean Óg Hynes and Kieran Looby
B team: Michael Wycherley, Ellie Sullivan Sexton, John Ryan and Shane Ormsby
C team: James Flynn, Brian Wycherley, Hughie Sullivan Sexton and Criostóir Ormsby
St Joseph's GAA Club were very hospitable to all visiting teams and a great social night was had by all in Streamstown. Wishing the Very best of luck to Ballinagore in the National final representing Westmeath and huge thanks to Mullingar Shamrocks parents and officials (Paul Doolin and Detty Cornally) alike for travelling to Streamstown.

Dancing with Shamrocks

A note to the future. A date has been confirmed for our Strictly-style dancing extravaganza: it will take place on Saturday May 12 in the Park Hotel. Message to our friends, supporters, members and anyone else that might be interested: Get out the dancing shoes and step forward to dance on the night.

New Vice-Chairperson

At our mid-week executive meeting Ned Moore vacated the vice-chairman's post in order to devote his complete attention to senior team management. Adrian Keaveney was appointed to the post and is welcome aboard.
