At a meeting of the club's executive held in The Clubhouse in Springfield last Friday night. Ned Moore was ratified as the Mullingar Shamrocks senior team manager for 2018.

Ned previously managed the club in 2008 but acted as a selector with Bernard Flynn in 2016 when as manager of the club's Division 3 team he secured promotion to Division 2 and led the junior team to the championship semi-final and a narrow defeat to Multyfarnham. Since 2008 Ned has managed St. Mary's, Rochfortbridge, Carrickedmond (Longford), Croghan (Offaly), Na Fianna (Meath) and most recently Bunbrosna who went within a very late pointed free-kick of eliminating eventual champions St Mary's, Rochfortbridge from the championship at the semi-final stage.

Ned is joined in his management team by Enda Monaghan as his skills coach. Enda is a teacher at St. Patrick's, Navan where he has been involved in the management of the school's senior team for some time and led them to a Leinster title in 2013 but were eventually defeated by St Patrick's, Maghera In the All-Ireland final. Enda is a former Mullingar Shamrocks player and is one of a rare group of players in the club with a complete collection of Westmeath under-age medals and was full-back on the Shamrocks minor team that won the county title in 2003 and 2004, captaining the team on the latter occasion.

Gerry Nohilly is the third member of the management team. Gerry, a former club secretary, won senior championship medals with Mullingar Shamrocks in 1986 and 1987 and was team manager in 1995 when Shamrocks won the senior title.

The Division 5 and junior teams will be managed by Barry Maguire and Gary Corroon with a current minor selector to be nominated.

Ross Brady and Barry Maguire will act as co-ordinators and logistic managers.

We wish them the best in what will be a crucial year for the club. We labour under no illusion of greatness.
