Scór Na nÓg

The Ballinagore bandwagon rolled on to Birr last Saturday afternoon for the first of the Leinster semi-finals. The six counties competing in the Marion Hall were Meath, Westmeath, Longford, Kildare, Kilkenny and Offaly. All six counties took part in the Solo Singing and Jemma Seery was up against very strong competition. Jemma shone through however and qualified for the final together with Olivia Whelan from the Killoe club in Longford. Our second competitor was Shane King of course and there was no doubt that his performance was of a very high standard once again. Thankfully the adjudicator felt the same and Shane has also qualified for the final along with another Longford act - Katie Lynch from Ardagh. Westmeath have qualified for the final in all disciplines save the Instrumental Music but no doubt this very young and talented group from Bunbrosna will be back again in 2018. The Leinster final will be held in The Oprah House, Co Wexford on Sunday 14th January.
