The late Thomas O'Regan We learned with great sadness of the passing of Tom O'regan at Waterford Regional Hospital, of Thomas (Tom) O'Regan, 5, Boreenatra, Dungarvan. Tom was 74 years of age and was predeceased by his parents Johnny and Kathleen, brother Laurence O'regan and daughter Mary. Tom was born in 1932 the third child of John and Kathleen O'regan of St Patrick's Tce, Abbeyside and enjoyed a happy childhood in the 'Village'. His love for the GAA began at an early age and he played for Abbeyside with some distinction. Throughout his life he supported and followed their progress and later on, staying in contact with the Association, he repaired hurleys for clubs in the county. In 1956 he married Patricia and in September 2006 they celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary. Tom was a kind and loving father and husband and dedicated his life to his family and to his profession. He was a superb carpenter having served his time at Thomas Mahoney's, Bridge Street. He then worked for a time in London before returning in 1963 to set up home in Dungarvan. Tom went on to work at the Pfizer Plant in Ballinacourty where his work as a carpenter was flawless and effortless. Tom had many other interests in life including photography, travelling and was a keen follower of the horses, going to the Listowel Races for 35 years with his wife Patricia. Tom believed he lived in the nicest part of the town and loved the panoramic views of Ring and Helvick from his front sitting room. He had a happy and full life there. He will be sadly missed and mourned by his wife Patricia, who has lost her best friend; his four sons John, Thomas, Philip and Paul; his daughter Catherine; sisters Mary (Sis) Hehir, Judy Power and Kitty Organ; brothers Michael O'regan and John O'regan, grandchildren, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and many other members of family and friends.
