The UCC side participating in this year's Cork senior hurling championship looks more like a county team than a club outfit.

Waterford stars Jamie Barron, who is in the running for the player of the year award and his midfield partner Conor Gleeson were part of the UCC side that defeated a fancied Midleton side last weekend.

The students are also eligible to line out for their native club and the fact that they are dual players only adds to their hectic schedule.

They were joined on the team by another Waterford inter-county hurler, Tom Devine who would have played some part in the All-Ireland final had he not decided to go travelling for the year.

Other county players to line out for UCC were Cork's Colm Spillane, Mark Coleman and Darragh Fitzgibbon, while Tipperary's Michael Breen also featured.
