Waterford manager Derek McGrath celebrates after the win over Wexford at Pairc Ui Chaoimh

Waterford manager Derek McGrath admits that losing Tadgh de Bruca for the All-Ireland SHC semi-final would be a 'huge blow'.

Following his sending off for an off the ball incident involving Wexford's Harry Kehoe last Saturday, de Burca faces a one match ban for the straight red card received.

This will rule him out of the All-Ireland semi-final against Cork at August 13th, but Waterford look set to appeal, but it remains to be seen if that will be successful or not.

And McGrath stated to the Waterford News & Star that losing such an important player could affect the way that they set up.

"Tadgh has been at the centre of everything we've done well over the last four years. He made his debut at wing back in 2014 and obviously has been hugely central to how we play and we've done," said McGrath.

"He's a purist in terms of his approach to the game. I'll have to see it and then we'll leave due process take its course.

"It would be a huge blow. It would probably change things. We haven't really thought about it yet in terms of our approach to it or I didn't speak to him about it."
