Waterford and Wexford met at Pairc Ui Chaoimh this evening to see who would join Galway, Cork and Tipperary in the All-Ireland SHC semi-finals.
The Model County had enjoyed a sensational first season under Davy Fitzgerald so far and they were gunning to bounce back in style from their Leinster final defeat at the hands of the Tribesmen.
Na Deise, meanwhile, had regrouped well under Derek McGrath to record impressive Qualifier victories over Offaly and Kilkenny since losing to the Rebels at the semi-final stage in Munster.
The Suirsiders prevailed by ten points when the sides met at the same stage last year but today's contest was much closer.
